Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 concluded successfully, receiving positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors who valued the connections made during the three-day event. The expanded exhibition spanned the entire automotive value chain, from manufacturing to the aftermarket, and saw 311 exhibitors interact with 15,098 visitors across six halls of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The space fostered positive interactions including business exchanges, educational opportunities, and entertainment experiences. These were marked by the introduction of cutting-edge technologies and innovations in automation, connectivity, digitalisation, new energy, and more, driving growth and infusing dynamism into the entire automotive market in the region.

Key figures from Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025:

  • Exhibitors: 311 from 21 countries and regions
  • Visitors: 15,098 from 61 countries and regions (International: 21 percent; Local: 79 percent)
  • Scale: 12,538 sqm (halls 1 to 6)
  • 29 fringe events and activities (8 by organisers, 21 by industry associations and organisations)

Ms Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “I am pleased to see that our decision to expand the show to six halls was effective. The increased space allowed more exhibitors and attendees to engage in activities covering the entire automotive value chain and provided greater opportunities for networking, collaboration, and recreation. The array of new concepts, technologies and solutions showcased over the three days signified the ongoing momentum and innovative spirit of the ASEAN automotive industry. Similarly, Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is poised to match this positive trajectory, and I look forward to an even stronger event in 2026.”

At the Opening Ceremony, Senior Director of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Faizal Mohd Yusof, added: “Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is a dynamic platform that reflects the evolving automotive landscape and Malaysia’s pivotal role in driving regional and global progress. As the ASEAN Chair for 2025, Malaysia is committed to advocating for increased development of the region, particularly in the automotive industry. This show embodies that commitment by showcasing the growing trends of energy transition, electrification, and digitalisation, that are shaping automotive mobility and logistics.”

Participants praised how the event remained at the forefront of these industry trends and showcased key technologies driving the future of the sector. For example, the Automotive Mobility Solutions Zone displayed the latest innovations in digitalisation and electrification, transforming supply chain operations, logistics efficiency, and consumer satisfaction, with a particular focus on energy transition, new energy vehicle (NEV) adoption, cybersecurity, digital solutions and more.

Attendees emphasised that the event effectively highlighted the growing importance of environmental awareness and new lifestyle trends, both in manufacturing processes and consumer choices. Reflected through the new Outdoor, Camping, Campervan & Caravan, Motorsport, JDM & Classic Cars zone, this successfully celebrated automotive subcultures while spotlighting and responding to emerging lifestyle trends.

The exhibition also hosted leading brands within the Passenger, Commercial Vehicles & Fleets, and Automotive Repair & Maintenance / Body & Paint / Care & Detailing / Oils, Lubricants & Fuels / Accessories & Customising zones, who presented groundbreaking technologies in these sectors. Prominent brands and companies across the fairground included Alienworld, Emerald, Launch, Lucas, OBD, Schmaco, Sime Darby, SWJ, Vanli, YonMing, and more.

Elsewhere, fringe programme events returned to a warm reception, and were said to be productive meeting places for industry players to converge, share ideas, and discuss solutions to some of the unique regional challenges. At the Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference, 28 speakers from Amazon Web Services, Auto Data Technology, EV Connection, Proton, Stellantis, Volvo, and more engaged over 517 attendees. Simultaneously, 20 trainers addressed more than 230 visitors at the Collision Repair Training Workshop, where participants learned about the latest equipment, tools, technologies, and techniques for servicing ICE, hybrid and NEV vehicle types in today’s green and connected landscape. Highlights included the event’s first-ever live demonstration of application techniques and solutions for body and paint in the spray booth. Notable solutions included UV putty and primer by Glasurit Malaysia, auto refinishing solutions from Kansai and insights into modern workshop transformation presented alongside key players such as KSJC, Sagola, and Liqui Moly.

The collaborative and inclusive spirit was also highlighted by attendees as they praised the immersive activities at autoFEST@KL, which catered to a wider audience in the automotive culture. The autoFEST@KL Music Party and JDM and classic car displays, which included vehicles such as the Packard Clipper Deluxe, Porsche 911, Volvo P1800, Toyota AE86, and more, opened up the industry to a wider range of attendees, enriching their fair visiting experiences with entertainment and knowledge of unique car models.

A Southeast Asian hub for international automotive leaders
In addition to local engagement, the international reach of the event was evident in the week, as the exhibitors hailed from 21 countries and regions, with 39 percent presenting the latest from emerging markets within Southeast Asia. On the other hand, buyers from 61 countries and regions, including Brunei, Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the UAE, the US, Vietnam, and more visited the fair. Visitor delegations from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Türkiye also attended, seeking promising opportunities in the dynamic automotive industry.

Feedback from both of these groups noted that the exhibition’s unique and lively environment was an ideal platform to forge partnerships and collaborate between all sectors of the automotive value chain.
